Splish, Splash!

My daughter are my everything.  Being able to capture their milestones in life, drives me to push myself to keep learning, and to try new things.  They tend to be my guinea pigs, but when the session turns out to be a BLAST for them, well I am just in heaven!

This little munchkin has been all sass and no smiles for months.  She sees this big black box that I put in front of my face and says, ugh, no thanks.  

She has always enjoyed the pool and the bath, but since this warm weather has hit, her love for water felt like it was vanishing.  The Splash Pad--nope not happening.  The Lake--nope, hated that too.  I worried that this session would be a complete disaster.  Turns out it was just a disaster that I had to get cleaned up before dad got home.  Whoops.  I tried to hide the evidence, but there was a LOT of splashing.

Now let me remind you, even as a photographer's child, photos DO NOT always go as planned.  There is almost always at least one meltdown.  For instance, did you notice that she kept picking the flowers out of her bath and tossing them out of the tub?  EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. What you don't see here is the complete meltdown when I tried to lay her down in the tub.  But I will leave you with her typical, unimpressed with mom and the gazillion photos look.  Although, I truly think this time it was more of a, why did my fun have to end look.
